After reaching maturity, the zero-coupon bond will ensure a return of the original amount, meaning there is no loss, while returns from the call option depend on its intrinsic value. This gives investors a low-risk way of investing, as, even if the intrinsic value of the call option turns out to be lower than it was at the time of issue, a return of the original investment is received from the zero-coupon bond.
